Harper's 1st Birthday!

Jace went to Harper's 1st birthday party last weekend at Hubbard Swim School. It was the same place I took Jace for lessons for a while. He swam with Matt and the other little kids. He just loves the water. He doesn't smile much though.... he just floats around and people watches. :) It was a fun afternoon!

Real Eaties!!!

We have finally started real food! I am going to try and make all of Jace's foods when I can. It is the funniest thing to watch him eat. He attacks the spoon, and "helps" mommy feed him. He thinks he's quite the big deal. These little moments are just making me realize how quickly my little man is growing up. The first food we started with was Avocado! He seemed to like it okay, but then he got a rash on his chest. I'm not sure if it was from the avocado, or teething, or his eczema, or from his 6 month shots he got that day as well. But, since there are so many foods to try, I'll put it away for a while.

I waited a few days, and then I gave him Sweet Potatoes! He really likes those.

Today, I gave him peaches! He seems to like it at one bite, and then the next, he makes a face. We will see how he does tomorrow. No pictures of that! :)

4th of July

The 4th of July has always been one of my favorite holidays, even though we have never done anything extravagant or over-the-top. In fact, I'm pretty sure I've worked five out of the last six 4th of July's. This year was extra special because it was Jace's first 4th!!! We spent it at the Ross house, along with my parents and Sam & Ashley. It was a fun night... we grilled hot-dogs and Jenn made a hot-dog bar with a bunch of different types of toppings. She's always so creative. I made sure my little family wore Red, White, and Blue so that we could get a cute family picture. Thankfully, we were able to capture a couple good ones. At the end of the night, we went outside and could see fireworks in the distance. I can't wait for Jace to be old enough to enjoy the fireworks! It was also Ross's birthday, so we were able to celebrate with a banana cream cake that Jenn made. She didn't have any candles, so we used a little tea-light candle. Fun night!

Jace attacks every water bottle because he thinks it's his bottle.
